However, India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Karan Lal added the finishing touches with 37 runs to help India post 106. In fact, the other seven batsmen could not even reach a double-digit score.

Shamim Hossain was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers as he scalped three wickets and gave away only eight runs in six overs.

Bangladesh also struggled to get going with the bat as they lost four early wickets to be reeling at 16-4. The Tigers’ skipper and wicket-keeper batsman Akbar Ali scored 23 runs to get his team back in the contest.

The lower order showed the gumption to fight for Bangladesh as their ninth wicket partnership added 23 runs. Mrittunjoy Chowdhary, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rakibul Hasan scored 21, 12 and 11 respectively to keep Indian bowlers at bay. Furthermore, the Indian bowlers conceded as many as 18 extras.
