SRINAGAR: Secretary Department of Horticulture, J&K, Manzoor Ahmad Lone on Thursday urged the private entrepreneurs to come forward for the overall development of horticulture sector by establishing C A stores, food processing units and card board units. He said the department would ensure that available incentives under various schemes were provided to the entrepreneurs without any difficulty.
Lone was speaking while interacting with fruit growers during his tour to south Kashmir. He visited Fruit Mandi Kulgam and under-construction Fruit Mandi at Jablipora, Anantnag, an official release read.
He was accompanied by Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director Horticulture (P&M), Managing Director, JKHPMC and other district level officers.
During the tour the team held interaction with members of fruit growers association and other stakeholders, it read.
The fruit growers put forth various demands before the secretary, who assured them of fulfilling their genuine demands within shortest possible time.
During his visit to Fruit Mandi Jablipora, for which 440 kanals of land and Rs 33 crore have been earmarked in District Anantnag, the secretary directed Executive Engineer Horticulture (P&M) to expedite the pace of work, read the release.
While discussing the issue of expansion of the mandi with the concerned officers, Lone directed them to furnish a detailed project report (DPR) for further course of action, it added.
