With falling car sales and a negative consumer sentiment floating around the market, car-makers are hoping that new launches would create some excitement back. No doubt that the lukewarm sales has dented all car makers with even Maruti not being spared. Thus with factors like rising costs including fuel, traffic and other issues causing a negative trend towards new car ownership, only the excitement of a new car launch can claw it back.
The last few months saw a flurry of launches but the big ones are for next month or the coming months. It all starts with the much awaited Hyundai Venue compact SUV that Hyundai hopes will be another success besides the Creta in the SUV segment. Then you have new entrants like MG Motors and Kia Motors bring their own new SUVs respectively. First of which would be the MG Hector which would be launched next month while Kia would be launching during the festive season.
It goes without saying that new products will drive sales and entry of Kia and MG would be talked about and drive consumer sentiment up. Buying a car is influenced by the current situation floating around and with election, Maruti stopping diesels, BS6, there is a lot of doubt on the consumers mind. Thus only new product launches can change that.
