Virat Kohli Urges BCCI To Rest Fast Bowlers Before World Cup

Virat Kohli is currently on a break from cricket.

Team India skipper Virat Kohli has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to rest the vital fast bowlers from the Indian Premier League (IPL) to keep them fresh for the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Meanwhile, BCCI have a task in hand to keep their players fit with two significant events coming back to back. And, Virat Kohli, the skipper of the side seems too concerned about it. IPL involves a lot of travelling and back to back games which can take a toll on its players. Moreover, the respective boards across the world are in serious talks over their participation in the tournament ahead of a grand event.

England and Australian boards have already confirmed that their players will not be available for the whole tournament. Now, it is the turn of Indian team management to draw plans on their participation.

As per the latest reports surfaced the Indian skipper wants BCCI to hand rest to the fast bowlers. India is currently dominating the world with the bowling lineup of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Bumrah in their ranks. Virat Kohli wants them to be fresh for the ICC World Cup 2019. Thus, Kohli forwarded his suggestion on the table for BCCI.

“There were a lot of suggestions, with the players sharing their views, but no decision was taken on this. It will be taken at the appropriate time if needed,” a source said as per Indian Express.

Meanwhile, it will be exciting to see how BCCI chalk their plan out. However, if the key bowlers miss out on the cash-rich league, it will lose its shine a bit.
